Have you ever squirted a bottle of foundation onto a nice white shirt?
Have you ever rubbed your foundation on your collar while putting on or taking off clothes?
Has anyone ever rubbed their face with the foundation on your clean clothes?
If you’ve had any (or all) of these experiences, I bet you were almost devastated or wanted to scream at the top of your lungs, right?
It’s okay. Foundation on your clothes is not the end of the world. If you want to know how to get foundation out of clothes, there are 4 easy solutions to clean clothes with foundation stains below!
After many experiences with foundation getting on my clothes, I grew up!
Most of the time after that, I put on my makeup before putting on my nice, smart clothes (unless they have a tiny collar).
You can do this when you have enough time, but it does help to prevent the foundation from getting on your clothes!
Even though it may be tempting to put this stained clothing in the laundry basket and get rid of it when you do a big load, the best time to get rid of a foundation stain is as soon as you see it. Stains are hard to eliminate once they are set, so you must act quickly!
Step 1: Use a clean paper towel to soak up the foundation stain on the clothes. Since foundation liquid usually has oil, the stains should be soaked first.
Note: Remember not to wipe the foundation stain because if you do, the stain will spread.
Step 2: Place a white face towel on the back of the dirty clothing. Drizzle detergent over the foundation stain, then gently rub it with your fingers. This step is done when the soap spreads into a thin layer, covering the whole stain.
Step 3: Spray cool, pure water over the foundation stain.
Note: Don’t use hot water! Hot water will make the foundation stain spread more!
Step 4: Use a dry face towel to gently blot away the detergent and foundation stains (don’t rub back and forth). If you are hurrying to wear the item, you can also dry it with cold air from a hair dryer.
Step 1: Blot the spot where the stain is with a paper towel. Do not rub the spot because that can make it worse.
Step 2: Take a small amount of makeup remover, preferably oil-based or designed to remove long-wearing makeup, and apply it directly to the stain. Ensure that the stained area is well-covered with the makeup remover.
Step 3: Use your fingers or a soft brush to rub the makeup remover into the cloth in a gentle way. Move your hands around in a circle to help separate the base from the fibers.
Step 4: Allow the makeup remover to sit on the stain for a few minutes. This will give it time to break down and dissolve the foundation.
Step 5: After waiting, use a clean cloth or paper towel to wipe the stained area again to remove the dissolved foundation. Then, rinse the fabric under cold water to remove the makeup remover and any residual foundation.
Step 6: Examine the fabric to see if the stain has been completely removed. If it’s still visible, repeat the above steps or try an alternative method.
Step 1: Blot the spot where the stain is with a paper towel. Do not rub the spot because that can make it worse.
Step 2: Sprinkle an appropriate amount of baking soda directly onto the stain. Be sure to cover the stain with a layer of baking soda.
Step 3: Mix the baking soda and water, and then use your fingers or a soft brush to rub it into the clothes.
Step 4: Give the baking soda at least 15 to 30 minutes to work on the stain. This gives it time to start breaking down the spot.
Step 5: After waiting, shake or brush off the excess baking soda from the clothes. Be careful not to spread the stain further while doing this.
Step 6: If you can still see the stain, rinse the area with cold water and wipe the spot gently with dish soap. Let the dish soap sit on the spot for 5 minutes, then rinse with cold water and hang up to dry.
Step 1: Blot the spot where the stain is with a paper towel. Do not rub the spot because that can make it worse.
Step 2: Use foam shaving cream on the spot. Use shaving cream with foam instead of gel because it can remove makeup better. Squeeze shaving cream right on the spot to cover it completely.
Step 3: Let the shaving cream sit for 5–10 minutes, then use your fingers to rub it into the cloth. Rinse the shaving cream off with cold water when you’re done.
Step 4: If shaving cream alone doesn’t remove the mark, apply it again and add 3–4 drops of rubbing alcohol. Rub the shaving cream and alcohol together and let it sit on your clothes for about 5 minutes. Then, run cold water over the fabric to clean it.
Acutually, most people have trouble with clothes with foundation stains on them. I hope the above solutions will help you know how to get foundation out of clothes!
